Our Community House (located at 145 Beausoleil Street) provides educational, recreational and social programs that meet the needs of the residents of Lowertown East. The Community House also offers a physical space for residents that facilitates the identification of community needs, encourages the social integration of its members and promotes harmony and greater community participation.
Boundaries for the Community House services: St Patrick Street (North) to Rideau Street (South) and Vanier Parkway (East) to King Edward Street (West).
Boundaries for the Food Distribution Program: same as for all other services plus the Byward Market area from Boteler Street (North) to George Street (South) and Kind Edward Street (East) to Sussex Parkway (West).
Food Distribution/Food Bank
We offer emergency food supplies (full once a month and extras every week based on availability) to Lowertown residents (see boundaries/catchment area above). Every Tuesday 9 AM-7:30 PM and Wednesday and Thursday from 9 AM-noon and again from 1 PM -4 PM. Please call (613) 789-3930 to make your appointment.
Millennium Learning Centre
Free access to computers, printer, photocopier and the Internet. Monday through Fridays 9-12 PM (closed for lunch) and again from 1-4 PM. By appointment only at this time – call (613) 789-3930.
Emergency access to Kitchen and Laundry Room
Available to Lowertown Residents and families staying at a local Emergency hotel shelter. Call us (613) 789-3930 for additional information and availability.
