Our Intake Program provides information, advocacy, and referral services within the LCRC and to external agencies. Our social workers also offer emergency support and services, as well as crisis and short term counselling for individuals and families.
Lowertown Good Food Box Program
Fresh fruits and vegetables buying a club that offers each month, to everybody interested, the possibility of getting fresh fruits and vegetables at a lower cost (boxes of $10, $15, $20 or $25 organic and $5 fruit bags).
Families and low-income individuals can come at the LCRC to apply for this program. It gives a monthly credit to lower directly the cost of the Hydro Ottawa bill. Please call for the complete list of documents to bring.
Caring & Sharing and Toy Mountain
This program offers Giant Tiger Gift certificates or Hampers, as well as toys from Toy Mountain to families who qualify. Referral criterias are low-income revenue, living in LCRC catchment area, and being the legal guardian or parents of the children
(referral for the toys). Please bring documents to register.
Back to School Program – Sharing in Student Success (SISS)
Provides school supplies for Lowertown youth (Kindergarten to 8th grade). Registration required.
Important note: Intake Services offered later on Thursdays: 4 pm to 6:30 pm. We do not offer services during lunchtime (11:30 am – 1 pm).
