We offer monthly coffee houses, wellness calls, and annual art programs for seniors in Lowertown, and much more

Multicultural Program

Facilitates the integration of people from various ethnic backgrounds who are new to Canada through services and activities such as counselling, drop-in groups.

Coffee Time (for tenants of 160 Charlotte Street)
Coffee and conversation on the first Tuesday of every month from 10 to 11:30 am. (Currently paused)

Social Support

Our Social Support Program (formerly Intake) provides information, advocacy, and referral services within the LCRC and to external agencies. Our social workers also offer emergency support and services, as well as crisis and short term counselling for individuals and families.

Community House

Our Community House (located at 145 Beausoleil Drive) provides educational, recreational and social programs that meet the needs of the residents of Lowertown East. The Community House also offers a physical space for residents that facilitates the identification of community needs, encourages the social integration of its members and promotes harmony and greater community participation.

Cachement area:
Boundaries for the Community House services: St Patrick Street (North) to Rideau Street (South) and Vanier Parkway (East) to King Edward Street (West).

Boundaries for the Food Distribution Program: same as for all other services plus the Byward Market area from Boteler Street (North) to George Street (South) and Kind Edward Street (East) to Sussex Parkway (West).

Millennium Learning Centre
Free access to computers, printer, photocopier and the Internet. (By appointment only at this time – call (613)562-2925)

Food Distribution
We offer emergency food supplies (full once a month and extras every week based on availability) to Lowertown residents (see boundaries/catchment area). Every Tuesday from 9am-11:30am and 1pm-7:30pm and every Wednesday and Thursday from 9am-11:30am and 1pm-4pm. Please call (613)562-2925 to make your appointment.

Community Development

The Community Development Program supports community based groups and organizations, engages in social action and the identification of community needs and future project development.

Community Gardens

Beginning each spring, people interested in gardening come together to work in the community gardens. From planting to harvesting, the people meet and work together to do the tasks needed in order to get a bountiful garden.

Income Tax Clinics

Every year, every Tuesday night from February to April, the LCRC offers income tax clinics where low-income people can have their tax forms filled by volunteers free of charge.

Lowertown World Music Evenings

A free, fun-filled evening of activities and performances celebrating our community diversity through music. (Currently paused)

Lowertown Celebration

In collaboration with community partners, this annual Celebration in the Jules Morin Park includes a BBQ, activities for children, music, performances and an opportunity to come together.

Lowertown Youth Community Soccer League
